A weekend away

The past few posts have been about quite serious stuff, but my life isn’t all about that, and I’m not letting it consume my life, or this blog.

Before I start, though, I want to thank all of you who commented on my past couple of posts, I really appreciate it and will answer your comments later.

So, more fun things. As N. will be in London next week, we had been considering spending a long weekend there at the end of his trip. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take any time off work so we kind of put the thought aside, until Thursday, when N. brought it up again. He suggested I fly down anyway, even if it is just Friday night to Sunday night.

Friday morning we both finalised some things at work, and then I booked my flight down to London for the weekend in a couple of weeks. I’ll go straight to the airport from work and then we’ll be back in Edinburgh late on Sunday evening. N.’s work is paying for his flight back and since he is still working on Saturday, we only had to pay for one night at a hotel ourselves.

I am so excited about this weekend in London! I have been there a few times before but the last time I went was in 2007, so it’s been a while. It will be nice to get away for a weekend and have a little break together even though it will be very short.

And while I can’t really picture myself living in London, I do love visiting there.

It’s kind of weird, though, that this is a domestic trip. London is in the same country, in the same time zone. For a moment I found myself thinking about what to do about roaming on my mobile, and then I remembered, oh yeah, I live in the UK. Hah!
